Fifty years. One cask. Every vintage.

Commemorating Cyril Yates 50 years of distilling in New Zealand. This special 50th Anniversary Celebration release is a Solera Cask, beginning with a blend of glorious single malts distilled by our distiller Cyril Yates between 1987 to 2021 and will continually be topped up with whiskies Cyril has distilled from our new stills in Dunedin. Never emptied below half-full to ensure the influence of its original liquids. THE PROCESS START Single Malt whisky from every vintage distilled by Cyril have been carefully blended together in an original 37 year old ex-Wilsons (Four Roses) barrel. Single Malt from Dunedin's closed Willowbank Distillery from 1987 to 1993, have been married together with matured whiskies from our new Dunedin Distillery in Speights Brewery, where Cyril has been distilling for the last 3 years. THE SOLERA Never Empty and in true Solera form. Once the first 100 bottles are removed from the cask, the cask will then have a literage of new 3 year old whisky added to the barrel that Cyril has distilled. From then on, as each batch that Cyril has distilled becomes 3 years old - a portion of this will be added to the cask. These new batches distilled from our new stills will all come from small 55L ex-bourbon American Oak casks. Bottled on order, direct from the cask at that point-in-time. SPECIAL BOTTLINGOrders of the Cyril Solera Cask from this point onwards will be bottled “on order, direct from the cask at that point-in-time”. Meaning that you can continuously order bottles from this cask, but the whisky inside each bottling will always be different. Available now. Once decanted and bottled, this special release will be available for shipping.
